Thanks to @fishing4eskimo for killing it at Warner Bros today

I met Tahnea on the streets of Toronto. It’s no wonder she caught my eye, so I wanted to learn more about her. I was fortunate enough to take some portraits too, you can view those on my website under “Street.” Tahnea travels across Canada (originally from Montreal) by hopping freight trains, hitching hiking, and by foot. After she is done traveling and settles down, she will study natural medicine. She told me the most beautiful thing she has ever seen is her dog.

The tribal tattoos on her forehead where done by her ex boyfriend. She designed them herself but later found a very similar design on an ethnic tribal woman from another country in a book. She believes it was fate or perhaps divine inspiration that made the design so similar.
J- What do you believe in?
T- My beliefs are in kindness, respect and humility. If you search for that, you get the answer.
J- What’s the most interesting thing that has happened to you on your travels?
T- A crazy guy picked me up hitchhiking. He was drinking and pulled a gun on me, but I got out of it by joking around. He even put the gun to my head.
J- Did you get out?
T- No, we stayed with him! He turned out alright. He got us a motel room and brought us to San Fransisco. I woke up and he was touching me. I still remember his name.
J- What was it?
T- His name was Sam

john waire:(Oct 09th - 14:27) powerful.  think this is my favorite post yet.  u continue to raise the bar.  not many people have the balls to strike up a random conversation and engage someone...purely to find out their story...and capture their essence.  u definitely succeeded.
?s?k?:(Oct 09th - 18:45) great images. love the lighting. I should get out and do stuff like this, its inspiring to see. "I woke up and he was touching me" what the hell???

Wellington:(Oct 09th - 22:29) That´s what made me your fan. You are gifted and not only interested in making money. You really love what you do, and that makes you the best! The pictures you take overcome borders, and even got to a lame amateur photographer in Brazil. If get interested in visiting Brazil someday, you have a friend here, and surely also where to stay. Congratulations!
Kirk McGirt:(Oct 10th - 05:15) Very nice man. What type of lighting equipment were you carrying around for this?
Mandy:(Oct 10th - 07:00) I am a pretty big fan and your work has inspired me to learn more about photography, lighting and photoshop work. I´ve visited other "professional" photographer´s work on the internet and noticed this one in particular. He had taken pictures of the homeless very similar to you. However they looked like they were taken on the sly. You on the other hand, get their permission and are really interested in hearing their story too. I certainly wouldn´t have the guts to be able to do that. Keep doing what you´re doing!
wes:(Oct 10th - 10:00) wow...amazing... that is all i can say

Meaghan Johnson:(Oct 16th - 01:54) Okay so, you´re a Torontonian, I´m about half an hour away from there but it really feels like five minutes to me. I happen to be going to the Henry´s School of Imaging seminars and just thought I would say, it would be friggen awesome if you went. It´s at the International Center in Mississauga all weekend. I have so many questions to ask you but I don´t know how these things work so I´ll just say you´re amazing. Loove.

Chris:(Oct 25th - 19:00) Some really striking images here, Joey. That first straight-ahead shot of her is really amazing. My favorite, though, is the black and white shot of her with her dog. The angle, depth of field, lighting, tonality - all great, but what´s really magical is the slice of time you captured. The body language and dog´s profile are really incredible.
Brian:(Oct 26th - 03:00) Wow.. the shot of her in the crowd is stunning. Really showcases her individuality.
PNG:(Oct 27th - 02:40) Thats an awesome pictures!
CiaranC:(Oct 29th - 03:09) A really special set. Helping people to see that what they "see" is only a very small part of the story. Again great lighting..
Lainey:(Oct 30th - 15:03) She´s lucky she wasn´t murdered. I don´t recommend staying with someone who puts a gun to my head. She is pretty cool, though. And damned lucky she didn´t get raped or worse. She´s right about the dog. That dog is beautiful. Here is my dog. She was beautiful too.
