Hotel-Joey | Feb 12th

I signed my lease again for 2010. Living on my own in Brooklyn for a year has been an extremely interesting and liberating experience…

…but that doesn’t mean I’ve been alone. My apartment frequently turns into Hotel-Joey, a safe haven for friends to stop by. Photographers, friends from high school, or people I’ve met once the road have all fought over my couch. I remember once, Stuart Aiken from These Silhouettes slept in my bathtub because there was no room left anywhere else.

Ryan is also staying here before we head off to India. This is the state of my apartment today.

This week I put up with the nonsense of Lara Jade, a close friend and extremely talented fashion photographer from London. Check out her work here. Lara and I photographed each other. I don’t really shoot fashion-y stuff like this, but under the circumstances I felt it was fitting.
